本研究課題は,カナダのブリティッシュ・コロンビア州クィーンシャーロット諸島スキドゲイトで話されるハイダ語スキドゲイト方言(以下,ハイダ語とする)の形態統語法を中心とした記述研究と,言語類型論的観点からみたハイダ語の特質を考察することを主たる目的とするものである.本年度の研究成果は以下のようにまとめられる.(1)2002年8月初旬より同年9月初旬まで上記の地に滞在し,ハイダ語話者4名の協力を得て,形態統語法を中心とした調査を行なった.調査の概要は以下の通りである.1)動詞形態法に関わるものとして,派生接辞の機能と承接順序,更にテンス・アスペクトを表わす語尾の機能について調査を行なった.2)統語法の解明のために,ハイダ語の談話資料の蒐集と分析を行なった.3)辞書整備のための基礎作業として,主に動詞と名詞の語彙調査を行なった.尚,調査の音声資料は,永年保存に耐えられるように,デジタル・オーディオ・テープ(DAT)やCD-Rなどのデジタル媒体に記録した.(2)ハイダ語の言語類型論的特質の1つとして,同言語がいわゆる活格タイプに属することを取り上げ,自動詞を分かつ意味特徴として[作動性]と[制御性]の2つがあることを明らかにし,更に,代名詞の人称も関与することを指摘した.(3)アメリカ哲学会(ペンシルベニア州フィラデルフィア市)に所蔵されるポアズ・コレクションのうち,主にスワントン(John R. Swanton)やサピア(Edward Sapir)による20世紀初頭のハイダ語調査資料を蒐集し,その整備を行なった.(4)これまでの調査で得たアナログ媒体によるハイダ語の音声資料をデジタル媒体に変換する作業を行なった.(5)ハイダ語の言語類型論的特質を考察するために,北アメリカ北西海岸地域諸言語に関する文献の蒐集を行なった.

This research topic is to study the morphological grammar of the language in the islands, and to investigate the characteristics of the language in the language type theory. This year's research results are as follows. (1) At the beginning of August, 2002, at the beginning of September, 2002, four speakers of Chinese language were found to cooperate with each other, and the investigation of morphological grammar was carried out. The summary of the survey is as follows: 1) The verb morphology method is related to the function and order of derivation, and the function of the verb suffix is related to the function of the verb suffix. 2) The grammar of the system is related to the collection and analysis of the conversation data. 3) The basic work of the dictionary preparation is related to the function of the verb noun. In addition, the sound data of the investigation is stored for a long time, and the information is recorded in the CD-R media.
