M期チェックポイントは、細胞増殖過程における遺伝情報の安定な伝達に必要な細胞周期制御メカニズムです。今回、我々は、M期チェックポイントには、2つの独立した制御経路が存在していることを明らかにしました。これらは、M期チェックポイントの発動に関わるとともに、紡錘体と動原体の正常な結合を促すエラー訂正機構にも関与しているものと思われます。今回の結果は、染色体安定分配機構の分子基盤の一端を明らかとするとともに、染色体数異常に起因する疾患等に対する理解の一助となるものと期待出来ます。
