重点領域研究「超高率分子変換」は、分子変換の方法論的原点にたち、一般性のある超高率的な新方法を創出することを目的とし、研究組織は総括班と5つの研究実施班によりなる。本研究はその総括班に関するものであり、各研究班を統括するとともに、機器分析手段の提供、各種化学情報の提供、ならびにシンポジウムを通しての各班および各班員間の情報交換の促進等により、各班員の研究の支援を目的とするものである。また総括班には研究評価グループを置き、本重点領域研究全体の進捗情況を把握し、適宣適切な助言を与える。上記目的を達成するため、本年度に行なった活動の概要は次の通りである。1.本年度は各班員からの多岐にわたる多量の研究支援要請に応えるため、前年度に導入した200MHzNMRのグレードアップを行なうとともに、新たな設備備品として、プロトンーカーボン専用FTーNMR、キャピラリー専用GCーMS、高速液体クロマトグラフィーを導入した。2.前年度に引き続き、第4回(11月)と第5回(1月)の計2回の公開シンポジウムを開催し、それぞれ4人、13人の班員による研究成果の発表を行なった。また、第4回シンポジウムでは、国外研究者2人を含む3人の班員外研究者の講演による公開討論会を実施し、本研究の活性化を図った。また、シンポジウムでは全体会議とともに班別会議を開き、各研究課題別に研究成果の綿密な検討を行なった。3.上記シンポジウムに加え、特に関連の深い第1班と第2班および第3班と第4班による合同班会議を開催し、情報交換の促進と本研究全体の円滑な推進を図った。また、5人の班員外研究者による講演を含めた第5班を中心とする公開討論会を開催し、研究の多角的進展を図った。4.オンライン検索による各班員への化学情報の提供を行なった。以上、本年度は研究支援態勢の拡充、化学情報の提供および各班員間の情報交換の促進を通じて全体計画の推進を図った。
