项目摘要

重点領域研究「音声言語」は、わが国の主要な研究者の協力のもとに、3ヵ年計画で音声言語によるマン・マシン・インターフェイスの高度化を目指す。本研究は総括班として、研究全体の方向の決定、各研究班間の連絡・調整、各研究班に対する助言、音声データ・音声処理ソフトウェアの共用、成果公表のための会合の企画・開催、研究成果・資料の出版等を行うものであり、第2年度目の本年度は以下の実績をあげた。1.既に使用ハードウェアの規格統一をはかったが、さらに研究の効率的推進のために、専用のアナログ入出力装置を業者と共同開発し、各班に実費にて配布した。2.共用する音声処理ソフトウェアとして8件を選定し、操作性の整備、マニュアルの作製等、各研究班へ配布することの準備を進めた。3.音声データの共用に関しては、音声データ編集プログラムを開発し、各班の協力のもとに20名の音声のデータベース化を進めた。4.評価法作業部会を新しく設置し、音声合成・認識システムの性能評価の方策を討議した。5.日米音響学会ジョイントミーティングの機会をとらえ、海外の一流の研究者が多数参加したシンポジウム等を開催して本研究に関連した討議・意見交換を行い、海外の研究動向について多くの情報を得た。6.特定研究「言語情報処理」との合同シンポジウムを開催し、文字言語と対比して音声言語処理の内容を明確にし、研究方策を検討した。7.研究成果報告会を開催し、本重点領域研究の成果のチェックを行うとともに民間に周知した。なお、5〜7に関しては裏面「図書」欄に示したような論文集を出版・配布した。8.総括班会議・班長会議の開催、ニューズレターの発行等を行い、成果・知見の交流、研究の進め方の討議、班間連絡の推進等を行った。
