项目摘要

本研究は、本年度が研究の最終年度であることから、当初の計画を一部変更し、日本における『律呂新書』の受容と変容について、通史的な観点から総括を行なった。日本における『律呂新書』の受容と変容については、これまでの中村惕斎を中心とする研究に加え、未着手であった林家における『律呂新書』研究について、林家二代目の林鵞峰とその弟子たちによる研究を対象として分析を行なった。その結果、林鵞峰の著作とされている『律呂新書諺解』の実際の著者が、弟子の小嶋道慶であることを明らかにした。また、林家において実施される各種行事のうち、楽を伴う行事については、鵞峰の弟子であり紅葉山楽人でもある狛高庸が中心的な役割を果たしていたことを解明した。そして、これまでに得られた成果を総合的に検討することにより、日本における『律呂新書』の受容と変容の様相を通史的な観点から明らかにした。また、『律呂新書』研究を牽引した中村惕斎の研究と、同書を批判的に研究した鈴木蘭園の研究を比較することにより、『律呂新書』が提唱する楽律論の問題点と、蘭園が主張する楽律論の構想について検討を行なった。その結果、蘭園は『律呂新書』が示した「新しい」解釋を「蔡氏家説」とし、この「蔡氏家説」は「古義」に合致しないとして批判を展開していることが明らかになった。さらに、蘭園の主張は、弟子の講義録である『律呂新書辨解』、『律呂新書筆記』、『律呂辨説』などからうかがうことができるが、これらの著作を分析した結果、蘭園は『律呂新書』を否定するのではなく、『律呂新書』に見られる「蔡氏家説」の部分を改めることにより、「古義」に合致する理論の探求を試みていたことが明らかになった。以上のように、日本近世期における『律呂新書』研究は、中村惕斎を中心として展開していった一方、鈴木蘭園のように批判的な立場からも検討が行なわれていたことを解明した。
