项目摘要

1.演奏時間にみられる楽譜からの逸脱プロの音楽家による演奏音を用い、音符毎に演奏時間を測定したところ、楽譜上の目立って長い音符において、楽譜に指示された長さから著しく逸脱する例が見出された。((例;BachのSanata第2番、Rachmaninoffのプレリュード嬰ハ短調等)。このような演奏上の大きな逸脱が、鑑賞上はどうであるのかを調べるために、聴取実験を行った。聴取者の音楽的素養の有無とは無関係に、また、どの独立した聴取者グループでも一致した結果が得られた。それは、演奏者の演奏時間にほぼ一致するものであった。上述の楽譜からの逸脱は、演奏者の解釈による芸術上の特殊な意図によるものではなく、聴取上の一般的な特性によるものであると考えられる。更に、逸脱の法則性も見出された。すなわち、すべての聴取実験の結果の平均値は、1.4秒となった。刺激の時間的文脈に規定されて、この値からの規則的なずれが生じるが、そのずれは小さい。聴取実験で得られた"丁度よい長さ"が相対的に拍子で決まるのではなく、絶対的な時間長が大きな決定因であることを示し、"間(ま)"の知覚との関連性を示唆した。今後、"間"の観点からこの問題をさらに追求する必要がある。2.作曲者・演奏者・聴取者の間の意図の伝達について逸脱の見られた箇所を、楽譜通りの長さで演奏すると聴取者の大部分が不適当な長さであると感じることがわかったのであるが、作曲者の意図をRachmaninoff自身の演奏時間でみると、楽譜に指示している長さとは大巾に異なり、聴取実験で"丁度よい"と感じられた長さにほぼ一致している。楽譜を媒介として、演奏者が作曲者の意図を具現し、聴取者に伝達する過程を考える上で興味ある事実といえよう。これは、コンピュータによる自動読譜・演奏システムの困難点を示すものでもある。
