荒木不二洋は作用素環論の方法により研究課題である「マスタ-対称性の研究」を進め,量子統計力学における一次元XY模型のマスタ-対称性の構造を完全に決定した。それはC^*環の自己同型写像による無限次元Lie群の表現を与える。中西襄は場の理論の方法により量子重力の顕わに共変的な正準作用素形式においてはchoral対称性と呼ばれる顕著な超対称性が時空,B場,FaddeevーPopovゴ-スト場,FaddeevーPopov反ゴ-スト場の間にあり、C数である時空と作用素である種々の場の役割を入れ代えることができることを示した。河合隆裕は代数解析学の方法によりD.C.Struppaと共同で多変数関数論のHartogsの定理の型の結果を定係数無限階線形微分方程式系の超関数解について証明した。高崎金久は完全可積分系の観点から新しい超戸田格子階層を提唱し、微分代数の形式を用いて定式化し、またその背後にあるD加群の構造を明らかにした。このことから,新しい階層と無限次元超グラスマン多様体のアファイン座標との間の直接の関係を見出し,後者はτ関数の本質的構成や対称性の基礎となることを明らかにした。三輪哲二は可解格子模型の観点からn次元特殊線形変換群のq変形で得られる量子群の基本的な表現について,Kailash C.Misraと共同で結晶基底のYoung図形による具体的記述を見出した。結晶基底は柏原正樹が導入した概念で、テンソル積の既約分解の組合わせ的な記述を与えるものである。伊原康隆はG.W.Andersonと共同で射影直線のlべき次分岐被覆系の与える有理数体上の絶対ガロア群の表現と,高次円単数への同ガロア群の作用との間の関連を研究し,それらの間にl^n(n=1,2,3…)を法として成立する一種の相互律を確立した。
