本研究は、現代の言語哲学上の問題を現像学の観点から探究することを試みたものである。デリダの脱構築的議論がフッサールの現象学と密接な結び付きをもっていることは本研究以前にすでに明らかになっており、本研究では、このフッサール-デリダ的な観点から、(1)言語における「インテンション」の位置づけと(2)ガダマ-とデリダとの論争を検討することを通じて、現象学的・脱構築的立場と解釈学的立場とを比較検討する作業を中心に行った。(1)とりわけサールがデリダを批判しながら言っているように、エクリチュールの反復可能性を主張することによって「インテンション」の不在が証明されるわけではない、という議論があるが、この議論においては「インテンション」と「インテンショナリティ」との混同があることが確認された。このことはまた、グライスやストローソンの言語行為論についても指摘されうることである。(2)ガダマ-テ-デリダ論争を検討することを通じて、ガダマ-の思惟が、デリダが批判する「現前の形而上学」に合致するものであることが確かめられた。ガダマ-は<地平>概念によって、一方で人間存在の歴史性を強調しているが、他方で<地平>を一定範囲の広がりをもって対象的に存在するものと見なし、「地平融合」によって自他の連続的理解が実現されうると考えている。また、デリダによる質問を通して、ガダマ-が言語活動において「意志」が前提となっていることを自明視していることが明らかにされた。ここには(1)で見られたのと同じ問題があることも明らかにされた。
