1.研究の目的手話単語は基本的に手の形,手の位置,掌の向き,手の動きという4つのパラメータで構成されている.さらに,このパラメータの変更により手話単語の意味を変更するという手話独特の造語法を持っている.研究代表者の一連の研究成果は,市販の手話辞書に記載されている手指動作記述文間の類似度をその動作特徴に基づき定義し,手話単語を同値類に分割(分類)する方法を提案したものである.本研究課題は,この同値類に分類された結果を検索辞書と捉え,ユーザが日本語で記述した手話単語の動作手続き文と検索辞書中の手指動作記述文との類似度を計算し,対応する同値類の手話単語群を検索該当候補として,ユーザに提示する検索方法の研究を行う.2.研究方法最初に,手話辞書に記載の手指動作記述文を形態素解析して単語単位に分割を行い,類似度を計算し,同値類に分割した検索辞書の作成を行う.次に,被験者に対象手話単語の動作を観察させて,手指動作記述文を記述させ,被験者の記述文と辞書内の記述文との比較を行い,類似の記述文を持つ同値類を類似度の高い順に提示し,検索効率を評価する.3.研究成果上記の方法に従い,検索辞書を作成し,評価実験のための実験システムを作成し,評価を行った.その結果,手話の学習者と手話の未学習者各2名の被験者に手話の動作を提示し,手指動作記述文を記述してもらい,検索した結果,平均70%の検索成功率を得た.これにより,本検索方式の有効性を実証した.また,手話の手指動作の記述に関して,手の形を記述することが難しいことが分かった.一方,手の動きに関しては,被験者間で相違は見られない傾向があることが分かった.
