Investigations on Making the Reconstruction Plan of Shimabara Districts Suffered by Prolonged and Enlarged Volcanic Disaster of Mt. Fugen in Unzen

The long-term volcanic activity of Unzen Volcano rendered severe bad effects on the local economy in commerece and industry, and agriculture. Governments deliberate reconstruction plans and measures for the promotion such as the superdam of erosional control, training dike, river improvement, and program of economic build up. The objetive of this survey is to investigate the reconstruction plans of Shimabara districts.(1) Follwing up on the making the reconstruction plan in Unzen eruption hazard area are investigated. It is very important to accomodate facilities and equipments for countermeasures against disasters and urban facilities to the long-term volcanic activity in Shimabara district.
