本研究は、農地賃貸借と農作業受委託が何を基軸としてどのように変化しているかを「耕脈」という概念を使って明らかにするものである。これまでに得られた成果は次の通りである。(1)既存資料のデータ・ファイル化過去に西尾敏男氏が行なった耕脈調査結果をコンピュータにインプットした。(2)調査資料のデータ・ファイル化今回の調査対象地域を秋田県象潟町上郷小滝(76戸)、山形県八幡町大島田・平沢・市条三区(91戸)、愛知県刈谷市小垣江(195戸)、佐賀県東脊振村上石動・下石動・西石動(148戸)と定め、その耕脈調査結果をコンピュータにインプットした。これにより、この10〜15年間に農地賃貸借、農作業受委託がどのように変わったかを明らかにできるようになった。(3)耕脈形成の解明今回の調査の特徴は、農地賃貸借と農作業受委託の当事者の関係を、血縁、地縁、業縁など社会学的概念を使って明確化し、調査項目に編入したことにある。これにより、何を基軸として耕脈が形成されるかを解明することができる。(4)耕脈変化の理論化と実証化農地賃貸借・農作業受委託を経済的取引と考えると、耕脈のあり方に即して、実際に起こっている取引を「相互行為(特定少数を対象とした行為)」「社会的行為(不特定多数を対象とした行為)」の2つに分類することができる。市場取引と呼ぶためには、少なくともそれが「社会的行為」になっている必要がある。以上を理論モデルとし、それにもとづく実証分析を進めている最中であるが、その暫定的結論は集落から独立した受託組織が成立している場合には市場取引化が進行するというものである。
