孝子説話について、以下の研究を行った。1 日本に伝来する京大本・陽明文庫本の「古孝子伝」および敦煌本など中国の「古孝子伝」、さらに高麗本「孝行録」、元の敦居敬「二十四孝誌選」系統の諸本などを比較検討して、個々の説話の歴史的変遷と各時代、地域の特徴をほぼ明らかにした。2 とくに二十四孝については、日本の古写本、江戸時代刊本および中国の日用類書中の関連資料を幅広く収集し、その系統類別について考察した。3 漢代六朝の画像石および宋金元代の壁画線刻など関連絵画資料を収集し、その変遷と特徴を概観し、分類を試みた。4 鼓書、木魚書など中国各地の近世説唱文学における孝子説話資料を収集し、その多様な性格について検討をおこなった。5 韓国のソウル大学、高麗大学など所蔵する「孝行録」など関連資料についての調査をおこなった。以下の研究にもとづき、二十四孝を中心とする孝子説話の内容的変遷、その社会的背景、絵画や文学への影響、日本・朝鮮における受容と変化など各方面にわたる論考を来年度に刊行する予定である。

The following is a study of the contents of filial piety and son talk in 24 filial piety center, the background of filial piety society, the cultural background of filial piety, and the tolerance of Japanese literature.
