Associations between mortality, life-style and time series laboratory tests were investigated using data of medical examination for atomic bomb survivors. Individual mean values and coefficients of variation of laboratory tests during 10 years were calculated for five items, which were red blood cell, white blood cell, hemoglobin, systolic blood pressure and diastolic blood pressure.Without regard to the laboratory test item and the cause of death, the large coefficient of variation of laboratory test increased mortality as well as each mean value of that. These findings indicate that the coefficient of variation of time series laboratory test includes different information for human health from the mean value.Although the number of life-style which showed significant associations with coefficients of variation of time series laboratory tests was two, that of mean values was 10. These results indicate that the life-style associates more strongly individual mean values of laboratory tests than coefficients of variation.
