项目摘要

本研究は、元禄文学における教訓の役割を、儒者の伝記研究と、孝子説話・名女説話を中心とする教訓本の書誌調査という二つの面から究明してゆこうとするものである。3年目の本年度は、とくに元禄文学におけるさまざまなジャンルの文芸に関する研究、という面において成果を得た。【周辺ジャンル研究】雑誌論文「藩士文芸としての紀行文-加賀藩士有沢永貞と貝原益軒」は、元禄文学における紀行文を、従来の文芸的な鑑賞ではなく、藩士に必要な覚え書きという面から考えようとしたものである。文学作品の達成点ではなく、文学作品へのスタンスを考えるという問題意識と、従来手薄であった加賀藩士文芸についての調査との両面から成ったものである。また雑誌論文「神田・本郷-火災の街の文学」は、『むさしあぶみ』『天和笑委集』といった、火災をめぐる近世前期の記録文学が、本郷という同じ土地を舞台としている事に着目。火災を巡る説話が再生産される姿を跡づけたものである。【孝子説話研究】雑誌論文「善人伝のゆくえ-『明治孝節録』と新聞」は、明治初期に宮内省によって編まれた大規模な善人伝に関する研究である。該書は宮内省によって編まれたものでありながら、内閣の褒賞制度の文書を利用せず、新聞記事を利用しているなど、明治期の善人伝をめぐるメディアの諸相を明らかにした。私の専門は近世前期の孝子説話集であるが、本稿でその手法を明治期の説話集にも適用し、孝子説話研究が江戸〜明治を通じて有効なものである事を示そうとした。【伝記研究】伝記研究の面では、藤井懶斎に関する調査を継続中である。口頭発表「藤井懶斎の家系」(九州大学国語国文学会平成15年6月)では、新出の藤井懶斎の系図を報告した。これによって、従来まったく不明であった彼の家系と出生について明らかにした。
