国際化する日本の学校文化では、異文化理解を大きな課題としている。本研究では日本の教師とブラジルの教師がそれぞれの学校文化を知る機会を作ることができた。教師達にはブラジルと日本の学校現場を比較してもらう体験に協力してもらった。本研究は3つの内容に分けられる。(1)学校現場をフィールドとして観察を重ねていく。現地調査とインタビューを中心に行う。(2)各国の学校の様子をビデオ映像に残し両国で比較の教材として使う。(3)教師達との「学習の場(ミーティング)」を設け、学校文化の異文化体験を通じて教員養成を進める。両国でこれらの内容を実現していった。2001年4月から2002年2月までサンパウロ市の小・中学校にて参与観蕪をおこなった。2002年2月から6月まで日本の広島県の小・中学校にて参与観察をおこなった。2002年6月から12月までブラジルのサンパウロ市で、サンパウロ大学のヤナゼ氏の指導の下で小・中学校を観察しながらサンパウロ市の教師達と「学習の場」を設けた。そこで現在のブラジルの教育観がいかに変化しつつあり、各教師達がそれを学校の日常の中で認識していっているかを分析することができた。2002年12月から2003年4月まで日本中奈良県の小学校にて参与親展をおこない、関西の教師達と何回か重ねる「学級の場」を通じて国際理解教育、外国籍の児童生徒の教育について討論を行った。奈良教育大学、奈良や大阪の小学校、奈良NPOセンター、教師達の自発的な勉強会等を、本研究の実行の場として使った。日本の教師達に表れる学校文化、国際理解や異文化共生の認識にはこれらの課題を相対化していく動きが非常に少ないことが見られた。教育研修などで教師達が多文化理解をいかに体験的に学んでいけるかがこれからの教員養成の課題である。異文化を相対化していく養成の場を文部省や民間機関が教師達に提供していく必要を私は明らかにすることができた。本研究の結果やまとめが今後国際教育学会を始め、NPO財団や教育大学等で発表が予定されている。

Internationalization of Japanese school culture and intercultural understanding This study aims to explore opportunities for Japanese teachers to learn about school culture.
