本年度は、2004年6月より2005年1月にかけてパプアニューギニア国イーストニューブリテン州においてフィールドワークを行った。それ以外の期間は、国内において文献資料を用いた研究を行った。また2004年5月、6月には国内の学会において前年度の調査成果に基づく研究報告を行った。補助金は主に現地でのフィールドワークに関わる諸経費(渡航費など)、文献購入費、および研究のための機材の購入費に当てられた。研究についての詳細は以下の通りである。1.フィールドワークイーストニューブリテン州ラバウルディストリクト、バラナタマン地方自治政府管内の一村落に基盤を置いて調査を行なった。前年度の調査からの継続課題として現地語であるクアヌア語の習得に取り組み、一定程度の成果をえることができた。また今年度は村落内での葬式などの儀礼における経済資源の動きに注目して調査を行った。具体的には様々な経済的資源(商品作物、土地、現金、貝貨など)が儀礼がおこなわれる以前にどのような経路で集積されて葬式儀礼に投入されるのか、どのように儀礼の当日に消費されるのか、そして儀礼終了後にそれらの資源がどのように分配されるのかについて、関係する各エージェントについて詳細に調査した。またイーストニューブリテン州政府による貝貨タブの法定通貨化プロジェクトに関しては、特に村落レベルでの実際のプロジェクトの実施状況とその影響に注目し、地方自治政府レベルの役所の担当官へのインタビューを中心に調査を進めた。2.文献研究本研究の対象であるトーライ社会の伝統貨幣をより広い文脈から理解するために、(1)人類学分やにおける経済的事象に特に注目してなされている研究資料、(2)人類学以外の分野(経済学、哲学など)における貨幣をめぐるこれまでの研究成果、を用いて研究を行った。

This year, June 2004, January 2005. In addition to the period of time, the domestic literature data used in the study In May and June of 2004, the research results of the previous year and the basic research report were carried out. Grants include fees for travel, documentation, and research equipment. The following is a detailed description of the study. 1. Conduct investigation on the foundation of a village within the jurisdiction of a local self-government. The previous year's survey was conducted on the topic of language acquisition, and some achievements were made. This year, the village's funeral ceremony, the mobilization of resources, and the investigation were carried out. Detailed investigation on the specific resources (commodity crops, land, cash, shellfish) collected before the ceremony, consumed on the day of the ceremony, distributed after the ceremony, and related to each other. The investigation of the implementation status and influence of the legal currency exchange system of the state government, the village government and the local self-government government was carried out. 2. Literature Research The objectives of this study are: (1) Anthropological and economic phenomena;(2) Anthropological and other fields (economics and philosophy);(3) Monetary and economic studies; and (4) Applied research.
