本研究は、巡礼空間における宗教的物語の共有・消費に関する当事者性からの検討と、現代資本主義社会における意味づけの解明という課題を遂行するために、四国遍路における現代的な宗教性の表出に焦点を当てた巡礼研究の新しいパースペクティブの提示を目的として実施された。最終年度となる本年度の研究活動は、(1)これまでの調査、執筆論文・学会発表等を踏まえた追加調査、(2)四国遍路における現代的な宗教性の表出をグローバルなレベルに位置づけるための海外調査、(3)研究の総まとめとなる論文の執筆の3つに大別される。(1)については、研課題「接待の場における宗教的正統性」および「現代の歩き巡礼の精神性」の複合的領域と位置づけられる、巡礼および巡礼道を文化資源として認識・整備する動き、いわば「巡礼路復興運動」とも呼べる活動に関する調査を行った。2000年以降顕著になったこの「巡礼路復興運動」は、四国遍路の現代性を顕著にしめすものであり、代表的なものとしては、徳島県が主導する「いやしのみち」づくりと、四国霊場58番札所仙遊寺住職の小山田憲正氏が提唱する「世界遺産登録運動」がある。前年度の「いやしのみち」づくり運動の調査に引き続いて、本年度は後者に関する調査を7月に行い、「四国へんろ道文化」世界遺産化の会のフォーラムに参加し、小山田氏ほか多数の関係者にインタビューを行った。これに関連して(2)では、巡礼路復興運動についての海外調査を行った。平成16年度のスペインに続き、本年度はイングランド南東部ケント州のカンタベリー等のイギリスの聖地についてのフィールドワークを行い、大聖堂のボランティアスタッフへのインタビューや資料収集等を行った。また(3)については、特に8月後半以降は集中した執筆活動を行い、全6章構成でA4用紙300枚あまりの論文にまとめた。

This study aims at exploring the relationship between the ownership and consumption of religious language in the context of tourism and the implementation of the theme of understanding the meaning of religious language in modern capitalist society. This year's research activities include: (1) additional research, such as research, writing papers, and academic presentations;(2) overseas research, such as modern religious presentations across the Shikoku region; and (3) research, such as writing papers. (1)Research topics: "Legitimacy of religion in the reception field" and "Spirituality of modern religious festivals"; research on the location of cultural resources in religious festivals; research on activities related to religious festivals; research on activities related to religious festivals; research on cultural resources in religious festivals; and research on activities related to religious festivals. Since 2000, the "Tour Road Revival Movement" has been promoted, and the modernity of Shikoku Road has been promoted. Tokushima Prefecture has been leading the "Tour Road Revival Movement". The 58-year-old Senyu Temple of Shikoku Field has been promoted."World Heritage Registration Movement" In the previous year, the survey of the "Shikoku" movement was conducted in July. In the current year, the survey of the latter was conducted in July. The "Shikoku" World Heritage Conference was held in July. The majority of the participants were invited to participate in the survey. (2) Overseas investigation conducted during the revival movement of the tour road. In 2016, the company launched a series of activities, such as research and development, data collection, etc., in the south and east of the city. (3)
