平成17年度はこれまで2年間の研究作業を継続する形で行われた。しかし、平成17年度に実施予定であった追跡調査(予定では最終回分)については、調査時期等に関して、対象施設との調整作業がうまく運ばず断念せざるとえなかった。今までの調査では、対象4施設において同時期に一斉に調査を行えていたが、各施設のさまざまな事情により調査できなかった。したがって、本研究により行われた調査は、第1回(平成15年4月)、第2回(平成15年7月)、および第3回(平成16年4月)の計3回となった。第2回目調査の横断調査としての解析結果については、平成17年8月に岡山で開催された第2回仕事とストレスに関する国際会議において、「A Cross-sectional Study on the Relationship between Mental Health Status and Incidents of Medical Malpractice among Hospital Nurses in Japan」と題して学会発表を行った。縦断調査としての解析を行い、時間経過を考慮した上で、看護師による医療事故の発生とメンタルヘルスの関連について検討した。2回目の調査で医療事故を体験していない者で、かつ3回目の調査において医療事故を体験していた者では、3回目の調査の方がメンタルヘルスは不良となっていた。メンタルヘルス指標の中でも特に、GHQによる「一般的精神健康度」、NIOSH職業性ストレス調査票の「抑うつ」、努力-報酬不均衡モデル調査票の「外在的な努力」「外在的な報酬」「オーバーコミットメント」において関連が認められた。
