宗教的逸脱をめぐる言説が1640年代の政治的変動と連動する様を、議会、ロンドン市、ウェストミンスタ神学者会議史料や、神学書・パンフレット類の調査によって解明した平成17年度の研究に続いて、本年度は主に以下の二つのテーマに重点を置いて調査を進めた。一つ目は、1650年代すなわち共和制成立以後における宗教的逸脱の諸概念の変化である。とくに、新政権下で反逆罪により処刑された長老派ピューリタン牧師クリストファー・ラヴに関連した文書史料の調査を行った。1640年代の「反異端」論争へのラヴの関与が明らかになったため、ラヴ自身と、ラヴ裁判の原因となった1649-51年の王党派陰謀事件をめぐる1650年代の言説の調査は、17世紀の宗教的逸脱の概念における連続性と変化を示す重要なケースとなった。この問題は、彼の残した膨大な量の説教テクストや、1650年代長老派ピューリタン運動の分析と合わせて、今後より厳密に研究する必要がある。二つ目は、宗教における音楽の使用の是非をめぐる17世紀の諸論争の網羅的調査である。これは、とくに宗教的「熱狂」をめぐる革命期の論争と深く関わりがあり、従来の芸術史の視点では捉えることのできない、宗教的・政治的問題として捉え直すことができた。この成果については国内の複数の研究会や講演会において報告を行い、同分野の研究者との意見交換を行った。史料調査はBritish Library、Dr Williams's Library、Wellcome Library等のロンドンの主要図書館・古文書館で行ったが、史料データベースEarly English Books Onlineの併用により、効率的な史料収集・整理を行うことができた。

The evolution of religion and the political movement and interaction in the 1640s were investigated in the following two key areas: the parliament, the city, the theologian conference, the theological book, and the research on the evolution of religion in the 17th year of Heisei. After the founding of the Republic in the 1650s, the concept of religious escape changed. The investigation of the criminal law and the related documents was carried out. The "anti-heresy" controversy of the 1640s was closely related to the reasons for the ruling, the king's party conspiracy of 1649-51, and the investigation of the 1650s was important to the concept of religious escape in the 17th century. This problem is due to the expansion of teaching methods, the analysis and integration of Presbyterian movements in the 1650s, and the necessity of future research. The second is the investigation of the controversy of the 17th century. The "fever" of religion is deeply related to the revolutionary period, and the viewpoint of the history of religion is directly related to the political problem. The results of this research will be discussed in a number of seminars and lectures in China, and the exchange of views between researchers in the same field will be conducted.
