1)平成19年9月5日より12月5日にかけて,調査委託機関である,カトマンズのNew Eraの研究員により,ネパールの3地域の自治体の農家調査が行われた。標高2000メートル以上の高地に位置する村落を一つ,標高800メートルの平原地に位置する村落を一つ,そして標高300メートルの平野部の村落を一つ選定した。高地と平原地ではそれぞれ100戸の農家を,平野部では200戸の農家を面接調査の対象とした。合計で400戸の調査となった。2)調査項目は全体で80以上に上るが,第一の主題は出稼労働と外国出稼労働に関するもので,特に高地と平原部において外国労働が家計収入にもららす影響が強いことが発見され,投稿論文は完成しているが,まだ論文掲載にはいたっていない。第二の主題は教育水準と,労働訓練に及ぼす家族の影響,ならびに公的労働訓練の役割である。第三の主題は女性労働の役割である。第四の主題は,農地面積と収入と農業技術との関連である。第二から第四の主題に関する統計分析も進めており,本科学研究費の研究期間が終了する平成20年6月までには,投稿すべき論文を完成させる予定でいる。2)吉野悦雄は,上記の現地調査の進捗状況の確認,ならびに全般的監督のため,平成19年10月5日より13日までネパールを訪問した。3)ACHARYA Sanjaya は上記の現地調査の進捗状況の詳細な確認,および調査員の訓練のため,平成19年10月5日より16日までネパールを訪問した。4)ACHARYA Sanjayaは平成19年11月に沖縄大学で上記調査の一部について学会報告をした。
