本研究の目的は、労働市場に現れる男女間賃金格差の源泉を、労働市場、学校教育、家計内資源配分の観点から実証的に明らかにすることである。本研究の特色の1つとして、現在までに十分収集および整備されていなかったマイクロデータを用いることを試みている点である。そのため、データ収集・整備・分析のため、研究補助、高性能PC、ソフトウェアを必要とした。上記研究目的に従い、今年度は以下の研究を行った。労働市場の分析:就業形態や他人との相対的地位が、個人の生活満足度に与える効果、その男女間差異について実証的に分析した。短期的には個人的なニュースに反応する、他人との相対的な地位に反応する、若年男性では失業状態が幸福度を引き下げることが明らかとなった。本論文は、大竹文雄氏と共同で、日本労働研究雑誌に掲載された。労働市場と教員市場の分析:教員供給が一定のもとで、労働市場で高い賃金を獲得できるような有能な女性が教職ではなく民間に就業するようになった結果、偏差値で測った教員の平均的な質が低下したかどうかを実証的に検証した。推計結果によると、男女間賃金格差の縮小により、偏差値で測った教師の質を低下させること、その効果は都市部において顕著であることが示された。本論文は、査読付き雑誌に投稿後、レフェリーレポートに従い改訂し、再投稿中である。学校教育の分析:学校教育が人的資本を蓄積される効果を持つのか、シグナリングの効果を持つのかについて実証的に明らかにする。入学時の能力をコントロールした上で、学校のアウトプットに学校の資源がどのような効果を持つのかについて分析する。本研究は現在、データ収集後、分析中である。
