観察者が能動的に行う動作が認知処理に及ぼす影響について、2つの側面から検討した。視覚探索課題によって、能動的な行為を行う場合に注意が身体に近い方へより多く配分されることが示唆された。移動物体の位置を定位する課題によって能動的な行為を行う場合に実際の位置とのずれは小さくなり、より正確な移動予測であった。これらのことは、人間の認知処理における能動的な行為が持つ重要な役割を意味しており、動作を考慮した機器設計などへ適用が期待できる。
