本研究では、主として東京・岐阜・大阪・神戸・那覇をフィールドに、昭和戦後期都市政策のなかで生み出された、さまざまな場所とその景観の社会的・地理的性格を検討することを通じ、都市の復興(再建)ならびにそれにつづく新たな都市建設に固有の理念と空間的論理を明らかにした。対象となった具体的な場所ないし景観は、戦災都市の食料品市場(自由市場、闇市など)、露店街、スクウォッター地区(引揚者の集住地区)、そして特殊飲食店街であり、いずれも敗戦後の都市空間に空隙を縫うようにして形成されたところばかりである。当初、それらは体系的な都市政策が実施されないなかで空地を占拠するかたちで確固たる地盤を築いていたものの、復興の進捗に合わせて取り払われるべき「不快」な景観として認識され、最終的には再開発すべき対象として都市政治の焦点となり、実際に移転ないし取り払われるまでの経緯を明らかにしている。

This study focuses on the logic of the inherent space of urban policy in Tokyo, Gifu, Osaka, Kobe, and Osaka, as well as in the late Showa period. For example, specific places such as food markets (free markets, dark markets), restaurant streets, special restaurant streets, and urban space gaps after disaster are formed. At the beginning, the urban policy of the reverse system was implemented, the empty space occupied, the land consolidated, the construction of the land, the progress of the revitalization, the acquisition of the "unhappy" scene, the recognition of the final, the re-opening of the target, the focus of urban politics, the real shift in the middle of the process.
