本プロジェクトの目的はBESD(持続可能な開発のための経営教育)の普及を包括的かつグローバルに視察し、BESDの成果を評価する方法を発展させることです。欧米と日本の専門家との協力により、この新領域でのイニシアチブを分析し、まとめ、現行のランキングと評価方法を比較し、改善のための提案をまとめました。複数の会議でその結果を発表し、論文も発表されました。また、本プロジェクトの一環として教育とサステイナビリティにおける第2回国際コロキアムが東京で開催され、世界中の大学の代表者や日本の環境省などから教育関係者が集まりました。さらに、国際サステイナブル・キャンパス・ネットワークが結成され、そのワーキンググループが優れたイニシアチブを称えるグローバル賞(2009年予定)の構想を練っています。ワーキンググループの代表は法政大学のクロード・シーゲンターラーとハーバード大学のライス・シャープ氏が務めています。
