This project explored how to protect human security both in sending and receiving countries by critically applying human security perspectives to current international migration. In this project, migration was comprehended not as a simple labour migration but as a total trans-border phenomenon, and migration in Japan-Asia and in South Africa-Southern Africa was analysed comparatively. The specific focus was set on social sector migration and the theories of international migration were re-examined.
