神経変性疾患であるアルツハイマー症やパーキンソン病の発症における酸化ストレスの関与の解明のために、脳内の主要な多価不飽和脂肪酸であるドコサヘキサエン酸(DHA)やアラキドン酸(ARA)由来の脂質ヒドロペルオキシドに特異的なモノクローナル抗体の作製とLC-MS/MS による有機化学的な解析法の確立を行った。さらに、炎症反応に特異的なバイオマーカーの検索とモノクローナル抗体の作製を行うと共に、「抗酸化ポリフェノール」による抑制機構の解明を行った。
