The dynamics of 《amour de soi》 in the aesthetics of pygmalionism in the 18^<th> century's France

The basic position of our research consists in the clarification of the importance in the modern aesthetic history of the Pygmalionism, so popular in the 18^<th> century's France, especially from the viewpoint of the aesthetic dynamics of the 《amour de soi》 of J.-J. Rousseau. Our research shows that the Pygmalionism, so composite or complex since its origin of the occidental antiquity, was reformulated by the genesis of a self-consciousness of the modern author or artist, manifested particularly in Rousseau's melodrame Pygmalion, and contributed thus toward the modern manner of appreciating or interpreting the works of art through the strong and unique tension between these works and their authors.
