致死量のリポポリサッカライドとD-ガラクトサミン(LPS/D-GalN)投与による急性肝障害に対するマンソン住血吸虫(Sm)感染、あるいはCILIP投与マウスのサバイバル機構を解析した。これらのマウスでは、LPS/D-GalN投与による肝細胞アポトーシスの抑制が生存に不可欠であり、Sm感染マウスでは、iNOSがその抑制に関与していることが示唆された。CILIP投与マウスの救命機構は特定できていないが、住血吸虫由来物質がその救命に働いている可能性が示唆された。
