项目摘要

本研究は、語彙の学習おいてモバイルラーニング(mラーニング)とeラーニングとを効果的に融合したコンテンツの作成を目的とした研究である。昨年度は、eラーニング教材開発の特に技術面について専門家の協力を得て実際にコンテンツを作成した。この時点では、PC上での使用のみが可能なものであったため、今年度は、これを携帯端末(特に携帯電話)での使用を可能にする方法を検討し、実際の使用に近い状態を実現することを目的として開発を進めた。開発環境としては、国立情報学研究所が提供しているコミュニティウェアのNet Commonsを利用して開発した。その背景として、CMS(Contents Management System)とLMS(Learning Management System)とを統合しているという環境が今回の研究目的と一致しており、実現したい機能を提供するのに適した開発環境であると判断したためである。つまり、本ソフトウェアの利用により、学習者にとってはPC上でも携帯端末上でも学習が可能となり、教員側には学習者の学習状況がサーバー機から確認でき、次の指導に生かせるという環境を提供できることになったということである。このことは、学習の一貫性、すなわちeラーニングでの学習はPCを利用して行うが、その内容はコンテンツ内で完結しているため、PCのない環境では復習などの反復学習には不向きという点で問題のあったeラーニングの欠点を解消し、PCを中心とした学習ネットワークの形成が可能となった。さらに、時と場所を選ぶことなく英語の学習が可能になるため語彙の定着がより高まることも当然期待できることとなった。
