I examined how strengthening of intellectual property rights (IPRs) in less developed countries affects innovation and technology diffusion. As a consequence, I found that strengthening of IPRs in less developed countries promotes FDI. On the other hand, it reduces the rate of innovation when social infrastructure in those countries is not sufficient. I also found that IPRs policy in less development countries becomes weaker than their optimal levels and that international harmonization of IPRs is not efficient when institutional structure of the developed countries and the less developed countries is greatly different.

我研究了欠发达国家加强知识产权（IPRs）如何影响创新和技术传播。因此，我发现，加强欠发达国家的知识产权促进了外国直接投资。另一方面，当这些国家的社会基础设施不足时，它会降低创新速度。我还发现，在欠发达国家的知识产权政策变得比他们的最佳水平弱，知识产权的国际协调是没有效率的，当发达国家和欠发达国家的制度结构有很大的不同。
