院内感染によって発生する医療費について、診断群分類(DPC)による包括支払い制度を用いた概算モデルを作成し、検討を行った。院内感染の合併により、1入院当たり220万円(ICU内で発生した場合)から290万円(ICU以外で発生した場合)の医療費が付加的に発生すると見積もられた。医療機関の負担はこのうち約2割(ICU)から5割(ICU以外)であった。他の研究における医療費との比較から、この評価モデルはある程度の妥当性があり、より簡便であると考えられた。
