排尿障害を呈する脳梗塞ラットまたは脊髄損傷ラットの脳脊髄髄腔内へ骨髄間質細胞を移植し、下部尿路機能の再構築の可能性について検討した。その結果、ドナー由来の移植細胞は脳や脊髄に定着し、一部のラットでは移植由来細胞は神経様細胞に分化しており、排尿障害も部分的に改善された。
