ステロイドはアレルギー性鼻炎の治療において重要な薬剤である。しかし、本剤が奏功せず手術治療を選択せざるを得ない症例も存在する。このステロイド耐性化は、NF-kB の過剰発現によるものではなく、ステロイド受容体ベータの発現が関与している可能性が示唆された。
