项目摘要

本研究では、日本語教育史研究の中で今まで休止期と言われた1945年～1960年頃の日本語教育の実態を明らかにするもので、当時の日本語学習経験者を中心に得たデータに基づいて知見を得る質的研究である。その中でも方法論が整っているライフヒストリーを用いて、調査対象者から得られた当時の日本語学習の実態や対象者自身の日本(語)観、日本文化観に関して明らかにすることによって「日本語教育史」研究の空白を埋めると共に、「植民地期」の日本語教育と、再開後の日本語教育とのつながりを明らかにすることを目的とした。そのために、以下のような研究手順を立てて研究を行ってきた。1.開化期(1890～1910)、植民地期(1910～1945)、休止期(1945～1960)、教育課程期(1973～現在)の日本語教育に関する文献を日本と韓国の国会図書館・国家記録院・大学図書館などを通して調査収集した。2.インタビュー調査に必要なライフヒストリー、質的研究に関する先行文献を調査収集した。3.日本語教育の休止期の実態を当時の学習者のライフヒストリーを通して明らかにし、他の時代の日本語教育とのつながりを明らかにするために、現在、植民地期の日本語学習者5名、休止期の日本語学習者5名、教育課程期の日本語学習者及び教育経験者15名、合計25名を対象とし、日本観(学習観・教育観)についてインタビューを行った。4.インタビュー調査によって証言を得た後、収集した文献と対照し、分析・考察を行った。5.インタビュー内容の一部を分析・考察した成果をまとめ、学会発表で公表した。本研究では、今まで教育する側を中心に記述されてきた日本語教育の歴史を学習者中心という視点で記述したことで先行研究とは異なる角度から韓国の日本語教育史が記述できたと考える。特に75才以上の日本語学習経験者が少なくなっている現在に至急必要とされる研究であることにも意義があり、各時代の日本語教育の実態を学習者の視点で見直していく作業の基礎になると考える。

This study is a qualitative study of the state of Japanese language education from 1945 to 1960.
