Preparation, imaging and investigation of magnetic molecules on surfaces

The main goal of the project is to establish suitable preparation techniques that allow the controlled deposition of magnetic molecules on well defined surfaces. This is a prerequisite for potential future molecular electronic devices based on either discrete molecules, mesoscopic clusters, or ordered layers of magnetic molecules. In a second step, after the successful preparation, we want to manipulate and investigate the electronic and magnetic properties by means of scanning probe methods.
