今年度は個別作家研究の深化と新たな資料調査により、ガリツィアの文化的混淆性に対するポーランド文芸界の反応をポーランド、イディッシュ文学という面から掬いあげた。5～6月、ポーランドのワルシャワ・ユダヤ歴史研究所、ワルシャワ国立図書館、クラクフのヤギェウォ大学図書館で、1900年代から大戦間期の新聞、雑誌とブルーノ・シュルツの絵画作品と雑誌初出の短編を調査した。これを通し、雑誌『シグナル』を中心とするルヴフの若手文芸人の文化的マイノリティに対する関心と、ガリツィアの文化的多元性に対する積極的評価が全ポーランド的なものではなく、第一次大戦後にウクライナとポーランドの争いを経てポーランド領となったこの地の現状に対する応答として生じたことを明確にした。ルヴフ刊行のイディッシュ文学誌『贈り物』(1929-31)の調査も進め、この雑誌がイディッシュを一つの言語とみなし、イディッシュによる汎ヨーロッパ的モダニズム文学の創造を目指したこともわかってきた。シュルツの一次、二次作品の調査とそれに基づく分析は、従来ポーランド文学かユダヤ文化の中で捉えられてきたシュルツをガリツィアという土地との結びつきの中に示した。今年度は考察対象をルヴフに縁ある作家の作品に更に広げた。ブルーノ・ヤシェンスキの小説『パリを焼く』を小説空間に使用される言語、発表当時の人気と各国語への翻訳状況、検閲の問題に踏み込んで再考した。独立ポーランドにおける文化的マイノリティの問題が当時の左派文化人に共有されたインターナショナリズムと重なる部分も見えてきた。従来、研究領域と戦後国家の一国文化史に分断され、ルヴフの文芸界に対する総合的評価は十分なされていない。当時の内部の反応として大戦間期ポーランドの文学地図を見直す一定の段階まで研究を進めることができた。成果は論文にまとめたが、刊行が翌年度にずれ込んだものが多い。
