A study on cultural adaptation and language ability of Chinese students in Japan

本研究考察了按英语和日语水平分为两组的中国学生的语言能力和社会适应能力，得出了以下结论：(1)适应意识的多样化；(2)适应策略的改变；(3)日语水平和使用态度的差异。我们在采访在日本找到工作的学生时发现，尽管他们在大学里没有问题，但他们在适应工作环境方面存在困难。未来的挑战是考虑到与新工作环境相关的因素，对刚开始工作的应届毕业生的适应性进行跟踪调查。

This research examined language ability and social adaptability of Chinese students who were divided into two groups according to their English and Japanese proficiency, and reached following conclusions :(1) diversification of sense of adaptability ;(2) change of strategy for adaptability ;(3) difference in proficiency of Japanese and attitude about using it.We also found out in interviewing students who got job in Japan that they had felt difficulty in getting oriented to working environment even though they had no problem in university. The challenge for the future is to conduct follow-up survey on adaptability of new graduates who just started to work by taking factors related to new working environment into consideration.
