项目摘要

The study examines the competitiveness of the Japanese firms since the 1980s. The conventional analytical method in terms of a standard residency-based balance of trade is replaced by the idea of ownership-based net foreign sales introduced by DeAnne Julius (1990, 1991). The Japanese overseas activities have made exporting firms with foreign affiliates abroad become more competitive through selling their products in the local market of the foreign country, The paper investigates the characteristics of Japanese corporate competitiveness by area, North America, Asia and Europe.

本研究调查了20世纪80年代以来日本企业的竞争力。传统的分析方法是以标准的居住地为基础的贸易平衡，而代之以DeAnne Julius（1990，1991）提出的以所有权为基础的净对外销售额的概念。日本的海外活动使在海外设有子公司的出口企业通过在外国的当地市场销售产品而提高了竞争力。本文按地区、北美、亚洲和欧洲考察了日本企业竞争力的特点。
