As organ-specific chronic inflammation-carcinoma sequence, we have analyzed ulcerative colitis (UC)-colorectal carcinoma system, and shown alterations of crosstalk between mucosal crypt epithelia and stromal cells, with decrease of subepithelial myofibroblasts and acceleration of genomic instability of interstitial cells, as well as mucosal remodeling, relating to tumorigenesis.
