This Research, by conducting the research that combine the fieldwork and the comprehension of the document material, mainly analyzes four problems about daoist salvation rituals for abnormal deaths in the southern area in Taiwan : 1. What kinds of rituals exist and how the concrete practicing method and the content of these rituals are, 2. What differences can be seen between the rituals in Tainan 台南 Region and those in Gaoxiong-Pingdong 高雄・屏東 Region, 3. Why these special rituals are practiced in the case of abnormal deaths, 4. What thoughts and concepts exist in the background of these kinds of rituals.
