This is a research about librarians overseas before the Second World War. The main aim of the research is assembling the biographical data of the librarians overseas. In three years for the research I compiled their biographical data and published a biographical dictionary in 2012 as an outcome of the research. The dictionary makes it clear that the librarians overseas, besides and beyond their usual work at the libraries, devoted themselves to a variety of social and cultural activities including editing literary periodicals and/or promoting reading education. The biographical dictionary also makes a contribution, bibliographical as well as philological, to future research in literature, art, publication and theatrical performance overseas.

这是一项关于二战前海外图书馆员的研究。该研究的主要目的是收集海外图书馆员的传记数据。在三年的研究中，我整理了他们的传记数据，并于 2012 年出版了一本传记词典作为研究成果。字典明确指出，海外图书馆员除了在图书馆的日常工作外，还致力于编辑文学期刊和/或推广阅读教育等各种社会和文化活动。该传记词典还为未来海外文学、艺术、出版和戏剧表演的研究做出了书目学和语言学方面的贡献。
