英文摘要
In this study, I investigated the relationship between HRM practices and firm performance. Results based on a sample of nearly 800 Japanese listed firms indicate three findings. First, HRM practices have a statistically significant impact on employee quit (voluntary turnover) rate, but not have an impact on discharge (involuntary turnover) rate. Second, paid holidays mediate the relationship between HRM practices and quit rate. Finally, quit rate has small or no impact on firm performance (ROA or sales).
