本研究の第二年度となる本年は、16世紀の架空譚と同時期の造形芸術との比較研究を行うため、筆者がコーパスの基礎とするラブレー作品に関して、造形芸術への言及と造形芸術から受けた影響の二つの面について調査、研究を行った。まず、当時流行した造形芸術の中でも、ラブレー作品に言及のあるグロテスク美術に焦点を絞り、現存する当時の装飾美術の形状を確かめるため、フィールドワークを行った。グロテスク美術の発祥の地であるイタリアにおいて、多くのフランスの知識人が訪れたとされる遺跡および建築物を訪れ、グロテスク美術の範例を収集すると同時に、工芸品や建築様式の調査を行った。特に、マントヴァのテ宮殿建造時に装飾を担当していたプリマティッチョが、その直後にフォンテーヌブロー城に呼ばれ、芸術監督の一人として指揮をとったという事実から、テ宮殿の装飾、またはそれに類似した装飾が、間接的にラブレー作品に何らかの影響を与えている可能性を示した。これは、現存しない当時の装飾芸術の形態を推測する上で,重要な指摘となる。同時に、これらの建築物における天井画の構成が、ラブレー作品の物語構成と類似していることを指摘し、ラブレー作品の構造論に新たな一例を提示した。以上の調査結果は、ローマのサピエンツァ大学で開催された国際ラブレー学会において発表した。また、視覚芸術に呼応した描写と相対する文学特有の描写として、ラブレー『第四の書』の「凍った言葉」の挿話を取り上げ、音の描写、すなわち見えないものの描写についての研究を進めた。この挿話で筆者が指摘した、言葉の文字と意味とイメージを乖離させ、それらの結びつきをあいまいにしようとする著者の意図は、作品全体の著者の言語意識を明らかにする上で重要な要素となる。得られた結果は論文にまとめ、16世紀研究のウェブマガジンLe verger,創刊号において発表した。
