Although the spin of balls pitched by baseball pitchers influence the their pitching performance, how the spin is produced with hand motion is unclear. In the present study I developed the system to measure ball spin and hand motion simultaneously, and analyzed the physical properties of such ball motion as perceived as "rising". Finger motions just before the ball release strongly influenced the ball spin rate. In those pitchers who threw "rising" ball, pitched balls had higher spin rate and spin axis closer to the horizontal plane.

虽然棒球投手投掷的球的旋转会影响他们的投球表现，但手部运动是如何产生旋转的还不清楚。在目前的研究中，我开发了一种同时测量球旋转和手部运动的系统，并分析了这种球运动的物理特性，即感知到的“上升”。手指在球释放前的运动强烈地影响了球的旋转速度。在投掷上升球的投手中，投球的自转速度更快，自转轴更接近水平面。
