今年度は後期旧石器時代後半期から縄文時代草創期までの居住形態の高精度分析を主たる研究テーマとした。そのための具体的な方法として、後期旧石器時代全時期の石材資源の獲得戦略の解明を課題とした。そこで石材原産地の時期別の利用傾向を独自の視点から分析し、成因や産状との相関を検討した。はじめは信州産黒曜石の産状別に、原産地利用の時期的な傾向を検討したところ、溶岩流か火砕流かその他によって大きな違いが見出された。さらにこれは信州に限られた問題ではなく、栃木県高原山産黒曜石の産状と利用傾向にも共通する傾向が見られた。このため黒曜石に限らずすべての石材の成因と産状に基づき、原産地の利用時期の傾向を調べたところ、時期別に有意な違いを見出すことができ、その原因を技術と居住戦略の観点から説明することができた。この概要を論文としてまとめたので今後発表する予定である。一方、石材データと遺跡出土データの照合については、下総台地北西部の新出資料を中心に行った。これまで蓄積してきたデータと併せて、表題の居住形態研究の分析データとする予定である。居住形態分析については、旧石器時代終末期の細石器石器群について着手した。従来の先行研究の議論を整理し、関東地方と東海地方のデータを中心に独自の視点でデータを集計したところである。この分析は今後も継続する予定である。また、今年度は栃木県高原山黒曜石原産地遺跡群のデータをあらためて分析を行い、黒曜石溶岩の産状と露出の仕方と原産地遺跡の形成が関連していることを明らかにすることができた。
