Rethinking Another Social Construction of Corrections and Rehabilitation caused by PFI Methods in Japanese Penal Policy

在我们的现代社会，惩罚实际上被认为是监禁的同义词。此外，最近的刑法理论明确，监禁只意味着限制自由行动。我们研究了由参与监狱管理的私营企业、组织和非营利组织组织的监狱生活的其他方面的不同构建方式，以及外国的改造政策，以调查我国刑罚管理的显著特点。我们的结论是在一次国际研讨会上总结的，该研讨会的重点是反思日本监狱医疗的社会建设方式。

Punishments are considered actually synonymous with imprisonment in our modern society. Moreover, the recent penal theories clarify that the imprisonment means only the restriction of the free moving. We have researched, in order to investigate the notable features of our penal administration, into different ways of constructing other aspects of prison life organized by the private business, organization and non-profits groups involved in the administration of PFI prisons, and rehabilitative policies in foreign countries. Our conclusion was summarized at an international symposium which focused on rethinking the way of social construction of prison medical treatments in Japan.
