This study has focused upon Protein 3000 Project, one of the largest life science projects in Japan from 2002 to 2007, to reveal how critical discourses flourished after its completion. This is a program of structural genomics to decipher 10000 elementary structures of proteins, 3000 for Japanese participants, in five years in international collaboration, yet a variety of serious criticisms took place after its completion. This study has identified various sources of such criticisms related to: 1. the failed attempt to establish an international research hub of NMR; 2. the disagreements among scientists about the basic assumption of structural genomics, namely the notion of elementary protein structures and the proposed method of high-throughput analysis and computer simulation; 3. the conflict between ministries about the way to promote life science program; 4. the insufficient understanding of the purpose of this project both by the mass media and by the industry.

本研究以2002年至2007年日本最大的生命科学项目之一--蛋白质3000项目为研究对象，旨在揭示该项目完成后批判性话语的蓬勃发展。这是一个结构基因组学项目，旨在破译10000种蛋白质的基本结构，日本参与者在五年内破译了3000种蛋白质的基本结构，但在完成后，各种严重的批评声此起彼伏。这项研究找出了这些批评的各种来源，涉及：1.建立核磁共振国际研究中心的尝试失败；2.科学家对结构基因组学的基本假设，即基本蛋白质结构的概念和高通量分析和计算机模拟的建议方法存在分歧；3.各部委之间关于促进生命科学计划的方式的冲突；4.大众媒体和业界对该项目的目的认识不足。
