项目摘要

今年度は、昨年度までに実施したイラン国立博物館および広島大学所蔵資料の調査成果について、まとめと発表を実施した。所属研究機関である広島大学文学研究科の出版雑誌、そして当分野の一線の研究者が集う国際的専門誌に論文を掲載するはこびとなった。昨年度までは1970年代に実施された広島大学イラン学術調査隊の調査資料についての、基礎的な報告書を作成し、概報という形での出版を重視してきた。今年度はこれら成果に基づき、発展的な論を構築すべく、研究を行った。本研究の主眼である領域国家生成プロセスに、調査資料から明らかになった物質文化の諸現象を位置付ける作業である。特に注目したのは、歴史学で指摘されてきた領域国家形成期の前時代に、供膳用器が広域で斉一化する現象である。一部地域について認識してきたこの現象について、昨年度までの資料調査によって範囲や詳細を把握できた。この土器の製作技術や分布傾向からは、この現象は生業や技術伝統の多様性を内包する地域社会がこの時期成立した証左、ととらえられる。史料ではなく物質文化に着目することによって、古代オリエント世界における領域国家生成プロセスの新たな画期を提案することにつながったと考える。この成果は欧文で投稿し、掲載が決定している。さらに、こうした物質文化、そしておそらくは社会の変化は、当地における基幹資源の転換と連動して起こった可能性が高い、ということも指摘した。その枢軸は、鉄製利器の本格導入であると考える。そこで当地における最古の鉄製利器である製銅柄鉄剣について、広島大学所蔵該当資料の再検討を行った。その結果、鉄利用開始期は従来の推定よりも遡る可能性が指摘できる。このことは同時に、1970年代半ばの調査実施以降、未報告のままで保管されていたこれら資料について基礎的データを出版することにつながった。この成果については、昨年度に引き続き広島大学関連の媒体での発表を重視した。
