项目摘要

本研究は南北朝期室町幕府の評定衆・奉行人の動向から、将軍権力の構造を解明することを目的としたものである。2013年度においては、主に足利義満期における評定衆・奉行人の動向を詳細に記録した『花営三代記』の研究を行った。『花営三代記』は義満から5代義量の事跡を記録した室町幕府の編纂史料である。本書については、笠松宏至・勝俣鎮夫・桑山浩然等、宮崎隆旨の研究があり、主に南北朝期の幕府奉行人が残した史料が編纂の材料であること、室町幕府政所執事伊勢氏が編者であること、編纂途中のテキストであることが指摘された。しかし、成立時期や編纂目的といった史料の基本的性格が明らかでなく、同時代史料としての評価が定まっていない点が問題であった。そこでまず写本を収集し、25本の所在を確かめた。そこから本文構成に異同が無いことを確認し、その上で本書の法令記事および関連未刊史料(内閣文庫蔵『御元服聞書』)から本書の成立が15世紀末を遡らないことを指摘した。さらに本書には近江守護六角氏を顕彰する記事や被官の死没記事まで収載されており、他の守護と異なる扱いを受けている点から、戦国期足利将軍と最も関係の深かった足利義晴期に、六角氏の影響を受けながら編纂が開始されたことを明らかにした。足利義晴は建武式目の講読を行い、花の御所跡における邸宅造営を企図するなど、室町幕府の最盛期に対する強い憧憬を抱いており、凋落した将軍権力を権威づけるために史書の編纂を企図し、義晴の没、子義輝の暗殺によって編纂が中断されたことを解明した。編纂が中断されたため、原史料の形をよく残しており、南北朝期の史料としても価値の高いものであると評価できることを指摘した。この他に、南北朝期祇園社における文書の管理体制を検討し、同時期に社家間の執行職争いから宝寿院流が確立し、現在残されている祇園社文書の原型が作られたことを論じた。また河内国枚方の鋳物師田中家に足利流吉良氏・その末裔の尾張藩士荒川氏の系図が残されていることに注目し、その伝来過程と史料的性格を検討した。本系図は吉良氏の内吉良荘東条に住した一流の系図であること、現在流布する吉良系図は同荘西条に居住した本宗家の系図であり、本系図が貴重な史料であることを明らかにした。
