The investigation of peptidase inhibition toward diabetic nephropathy and cardiomyopathy

我们利用转基因小鼠研究了内皮素转换酶（ECE）抑制对糖尿病肾病、心肌病、肢体缺血等伴发疾病的新治疗机制。虽然ECE被认为是内皮素-1的合成酶，但这次我们通过抑制它们的降解，证明了增强血管扩张肽是缓激肽，抗炎肽是降钙素基因相关肽。本研究首次证实了ECE抑制糖尿病并发症的新机制。

We investigated the novel therapeutic mechanism of endothelin converting enzyme (ECE) inhibition toward diabetic concomitant diseases like nephropathy, cardiomyopathy, and limb ischemia by using genetically modified mice. Although ECE was known as synthetic enzyme for endothelin-1, this time, we proved the the potentiating vasodilative peptide as bradykinin, and also anti-inflammatory peptide as calcitonin gene related peptide by inhibiting their degradation. This study is the first investigation to confirm the new mechanism of ECE inhibition in diabetic complication.
